Research Interests |
Yuan Zhang serves as an associate professor of MGI at Shanghai University. Her research focuses on the synthesis of advanced functional materials and electrochemical microsensors fabrication. She aims to develop and implement strategies for the fabrication of electrochemical biosensors with tailored properties and functionalities for target applications. The development of biosensors involves controlling the surface chemistry of sensing materials, smart sensing materials construction, and microfabrication technology such as screen-printing or ink-jetting. She has developed a disposable microsensor prototype, and used for the detection of prostate cancer and phenylketonuria (PKU). The disposable microsensor system enables complex measurements to be carried out in a low cost and efficient manner, and has the potential to exploit the point-of-care diagnosis platform. During her postdoctoral fellowship at Shanghai University (2013-2015), her research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (51301101), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (2013M530188), and the Special Foundation of China Postdoctoral Science (2014T70411). Currently, she has published more than 30 journal papers and obtained 8 authorized patents. |
