The "2019 International Workshop on Materials Genomics" (IWMG2019) was successfully held on October 13-16, 2019 in our university. More than 100 expert representatives from the United States, Japan, France, Russia, India, Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore and other universities and research institutes in mainland China and Hong Kong attended the meeting. The conference was hosted by the Institute of Materials Genomics Engineering of our university. The chairman of the conference was Academician Zhang Tongyi, and the party secretary of the university, Cheng Danhong, delivered a speech to congratulate.

The current International Symposium on Materials Genomes has been a series of academic conferences on materials genomics since 2015, and has been held for five sessions. This session is divided into oral presentations and poster presentations. There are four main themes: integrated computational materials science and engineering, materials genomic experiments, materials genomic databases and materials information, and advanced materials research. At the meeting, Academician William A. Goddard III of California Institute of Technology, Academician Javier Llorca of the IMEDEA Materials Research Institute of Spain, and Academician Zhang Tongyi of our school made wonderful academic reports for the conference. Others are from Northwestern University in the United States, Tohoku University in Japan, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Russia, Indian Institute of Science and Technology, Aragon Material Science Institute in Spain, Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, Wigner Physics Research Center in Hungary, and French research More than 20 well-known experts at home and abroad, such as the Central Microstructure Research Laboratory and the Singapore High Performance Computing Center, the University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan University of Technology, and Dalian Jiaotong University, gave academic reports at the meeting. They introduced the current frontiers of research in the field, research progress at home and abroad, and thought and prospected the development plan of materials genome engineering. At the venue, the participating teachers and students actively asked questions and exchanges, and the atmosphere was very active. Outside the venue, experts at home and abroad also exchanged ideas with each other, providing a good platform for international academic exchanges and broadening the international perspective of our teachers and students. Improved the international level of our school in the field of material genomics.
